How we can help

We provide free, independent, specialist money advice to individuals and their families. This includes debt, energy debt, benefits and income maximisation advice.

There is no drop-in service at our office so if you need our help you will need to call us.

We aim to open our advice phone line to new enquiries between 10.00 am and 12.00 pm every Tuesday and we review this on a weekly basis. Our telephone number is 01179 543990 or 0800 1214511. We offer a free interpreting service.

Anti-racism statement

We recognise that racism exists in our society and has profound effects on individuals and communities. We stand in solidarity with those who experience discrimination and injustice.

We commit to taking actionable steps toward promoting equality and inclusivity within our organisation and communities. This includes identifying and acting on barriers to make Talking Money more accessible, raising voices and taking action to fight inequality; improving representation at Board level; forming links with community groups and increasing our knowledge, confidence, and competence when dealing with racism or inequality. We believe in the power of dialogue and invite everyone to join us in this important conversation. Together, we can work towards a more equitable future.

We recognise that language about race and ethnicity is highly personal, constantly evolving, and should seek to uplift and empower people rather than marginalise them. We acknowledge that umbrella terms like “Black” and “Asian” include people with different ethnicities.

You can also call the We Are Bristol helpline for free on 0800 694 0184 Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm or visit the Citizen Service Point at 100 Temple Street. The opening hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am to 5pm, Wednesday 10am to 5pm.
