Community Money Adviser
Hours: 0.8 FTE (to be worked across 5 days; working pattern negotiable)
Length of contract: 6 months
Grade & Salary: Grade 5, SCP 19 - 25 (£24,799 - £28,785) pro rata, depending on length of service and experience

Talking Money is a Bristol-based money advice charity with a vision of communities living without poverty. Our team works to provide free, independent, specialist debt and benefits advice, and general money guidance, information and support to over 1500 local citizens a year. We have a strong track record of providing training and consultancy to local voluntary, statutory and private sector organisations.
We are looking to recruit a Community Money Adviser to join our team of 12 advisers. The role involves providing information, advice and advocacy on welfare benefits, charitable applications (for things like household items) and other sources of financial support to people living mainly in low-income households in Bristol and the surrounding area.
The role will work with people predominantly on a 1-2-1 basis, both face-to-face and over the phone and will include workshops and training of volunteers. We encourage collaborative working across roles, both within and outside of the organisation to jointly problem solve and expediate better outcomes for clients.
