A job with Talking Money, is more than just a paycheck
A job with us is more than it seems.
We currently have a vacancy and to anyone considering a job with Talking Money, I would say do it! My experience of having a ‘career’ has been a long and winding road over the last 10 years, but one I wouldn’t change because it led me here. I didn’t have a ‘Mark Zuckerberg-Facebook-overnight-success’ moment, not many do, and I don’t think it is right to compare oneself to this unrealistic take on what success really is.
Success to me is working hard, making your time count for something and finding something you believe in or feel passionate about. Being part of a charity that saves people from the streets, gives them second chances and turns lives around is that for me. My time counts.
Since I’ve come to Talking Money I’ve had a better understanding of my capabilities, I’ve pushed myself, I’ve had opportunities to grow in my career and it is a serious pleasure working with everyone here. It has been just over a year since I started and I have not regretted it once. All the roles here contribute to the whole mission of Talking Money to tackle poverty. From the frontline advisers, to me in Fundraising and Communications to this role of Data Officer. Each role makes a difference and the Data Officer tells an important part of the narrative.
